Is there a way to make the selected text easier to see on a Mac?

If the selected text in Word appears faint, you can change your preference for it with these instructions:

• If Word is open, close it.
• Go into System Preferences > General
• Find the "Highlight color" drop down, and select preferred colour.
• Exit System Preferences.
• Re-open MS Word.

The highlight colour should now change. The effect is system-wide (not just in Word).
